Podcast Review of Minimal-ish Episode 3

Minimal-ish is another podcast I listen to regularly. Today we are going to go way back to the start of the podcast and listen to an episode from 2018, “Downsizing: Why we Live Smaller, and Being a Minimalist no Matter the Size of your Home”.

The minimalism lifestyle has become more and more mainstream over the years. It’s definitely not for everyone and not a one size fits all lifestyle. What I like about this podcast is it’s not judgmental or pushing you to change your lifestyle. Desirae, the host, and her husband are really just focused on sharing their journey with listeners. I really appreciate their theme of focusing on being content with what you have and truly understanding if your desire for more comes from external pressure or true internal desire.

Whether you have any interest in minimalism or not, learning about other peoples lifestyles can go a long way in helping you reframe judgement of others. Minimal-ish is a great introduction to this as their version of minimalism feels achievable and practical. It’s a great podcast to listen to to broaden your knowledge and possibly pick up some tips to apply to your own life?

Finally, in their readers question section of the podcasts, they addressed the topic of physical books. I love that their mentality is about building a life that fits you, not being perfect minimalist. Letting go of perfection is a huge theme of this blog and I appreciate Desirae and her husband’s take on book ownership and how it can apply to life in general.

What did you learn from episode 3 of Minimal-ish?
